Oct 31-Nov 2:Koh Tao (Hin Wong Bay): Words & a couple Pics!

So we decided to move on late Tuesday night so early Wednesday morning we got up and walked FOREVER to Hin Wong Bay. Seriously, like 10 km or more... anyways...

It was gorgeous there, with virtually nothing around.  No-things.  Totally deserted there and at the whim of the people living there and running the resort.  It was a funny experience.  To start with, the cost that was advertised, even in a very recently published island guide, was way off.  And then the girl told us that their restaurant was closed and we would have to go back to town for anything.  (Back to town = 2.5 km up and down a mountain basically.  Thai roads are funny.. no easy way up, just literally, "pave" a road straight up to where you want to go.)

After sorting out with the owner that they would in fact be cooking food for us, and viewing the bungalow (nicest we've stayed in so far!!) we settled in for a couple nights.  We did end up walking back to Sarei anyways, but whatever, it was night time and much cooler out.

We also had the biggest gecko ive even seen in our bathroom!  In a totally unprecedented move, I shall post pics of him at the end of this post.  Just cause I can!

Thursday it rained.  All day.  Which was somewhat good for me as all I wanted was a day to just sit/lay around, relax and read my book.  This makes E crazy usually but with the rain, he had no choice.  Of course I would have preferred to be out in the sun instead, but I was happy to just nap and read the day away..

Friday we were up and walking to Mae Haad to catch the ferry to Koh Phangan.  A british man who has lived on Koh Tao for 12 years was kind enough to pick us up along the way (not until after we had climbed the steep hill of course!) and drive us the rest of the way there.  So nice!

We had breakfast and then got in line to board the ferry for the next island adventures...

This little guy wasnt so lucky on some past day..
what a crazy thing to find in your bungalow!
