After arriving an hour or so late to Bangkok, we were off in a tuk tuk to a guest house in Bangkok to relax for a bit and eat.
(Oh, I should mention that we intended to stay at this guest house, but the trains to Chiang Mai for the 5th were sold out so we decided to take one later this day. But still had 7 hours to kill.)
Once we had eaten and refreshed a bit, we walked to Khao San Road to look around a bit and then began to make our way back to the train station. I voted for a cab about halfway there, haha.
Once at the station, we had a short wait until our train was ready to depart. This one was bigger somehow, and our air conditioned car (!!!) had wider seats and beds! YES!! After a nice ride and a good nights sleep, we arrived in Chiang Mai, only about an hour late.
Instead of grabbing a cab from the mob of Thais shouting at us and trying to pull us into their vehicles, we walked to the old part of Chiang Mai and wandered about until we found a guest house to our liking. In this case, it was Kaem Khew (or something, i'll double check!) which had a huge room with 2 beds for only 300 baht!
We showered and changed, handed in our laundry at long last and grabbed lunch at a veggie cafe next door. Then it was nap time!! When we awoke, it was waaaaay too hot in our room, so we headed outside to walk the city.
We found some old shrines and a day market and looked around that until the night market/bazzaar started up! Funny how they all look the same, and yet its still fun to walk around! We went into some antique stores as well to check out some hill tribe things!
Then it was back to the room for a good nights sleep! In our own beds too!! :D
