Oct 27-31: Koh Tao (Chalok): Words

Saturday morning we packed up our things from our little beach bungalow and walked over to the town of Chalok, got settled in at the Sunshine dive resort and waiting for E's diving course to start!  I was doing a refresher as well, so I suppose it was my course as well.

After filling in some paperwork and watching the horrendously boring videos, we had some dinner and just enjoyed the new surroundings.

Chalok is an actual small town, so there were more people, shops and just general goings ons to wander through, though not much.  E says that it is very quiet next to when he has been before but I wouldnt want it to be any busier.

Sunday we were up early to have our day in the pool, practicing scuba skills.  It was a lot of fun and Im so so happy that E is able to get around his ear troubles to be able to dive!  After the sunny morning in the pool, we had lunch and then settled in for an afternoon of more videos, talks and E going over his homework.

We dont do much in the nights beside have dinner and read our books, wander around almost aimlessly and rest.  Its pretty great!

Monday, E was off for his first two dives in the ocean, so I relaxed and read my book in a swing that hung from a tree at the waters edge.  I would have loved to have stayed there all week!!  Only if someone were to serve me drinks though.... hmmmm... anyways!

E came back from his dives, we had the usual lunch and went back for another afternoon of class time.

I have to say, at this time, I am already a little tired of pad thai and curry.  I can certainly order 'western' food but its not usually the same and somewhat defeats the purpose of  being here.  Still....

Oh, we also walked across the island (its not that big) to Mae Haad for something to do.  It makes a nice evening walk when its not so hot out!

Anywho, Tuesday we were both up early as I was able to fun dive while E finished up his course!!  The water was great, we saw lots of fish and my camera even worked for half of the time!*  I'll try get those pictures up soon too!!

I'll say again that I am soooo happy that we can both dive together now!  I was thinking that I would be solo diving the whole time! Yay!!

Where to now....
